September 11, 2001. The day the United States of America experienced an attack by terrorists on the World Trade Centre in New York City. How vulnerable we felt, as we saw how little value was placed on a human life, and the propensity for evil there is in the heart of man. In 2 Timothy 3:1 we read that “In the last days perilous times shall come,” and we are seeing that prophecy fulfilled before our eyes.

Those who know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour have the assurance that God is still in complete control. Then why does He allow such atrocities to take place?

How often do you hear God’s name other than in blasphemy? When was the last time you thanked Him for the many blessings that you enjoy each day? And more important, what do you think of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ? For over two thousand years God has patiently waited, giving men and women the freedom to choose between good and evil. He has given them the choice of either receiving or rejecting His Son as their Lord and Saviour. But they must accept the responsibility for those choices. God’s patience will not last forever. He has “ appointed a day, in which He will judge the world in righteousness” (Acts 17:31).

Life is so uncertain, and eternity so unending. This magazine offers a message of hope and peace in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you accept Him as your Saviour, you have everything to gain, both now and in the life to come. If you reject Him, you have nothing to gain in this life, and everything to lose in eternity.
