Is Anything Free?

viaadmin Volume 38

Do you ever wonder what long-lasting impacts rising prices in the marketplace will have on our lifestyle? One reporter tried to make us feel better about soaring gas prices by informing us that printer ink costs $4,468 per litre, Calvin Klein Eternity perfume costs $1,277 per litre, Red Bull drinks cost $10.44 per litre, and Evian water costs $1.59 per litre, so really the price of gas is not so bad!

Flour, lately, has jumped dramatically in price. This has driven up the price of a loaf of bread and a Tim Hortons donut. It seems that no area of our life is unaffected, from vacation costs, to food costs, to energy costs.

So while we look around and wonder about our economy, it is a comfort to know that the Gift of God is FREE! Regardless of changing economic times, God’s Word tells us that this gift will always be free. “The word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah 40:8).

We could never pay the price for our own sin. The Lord Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, took our penalty. He suffered the punishment that we deserved so that we can go free. Not only are we saved from the punishment for our sin, but we also have a constant Companion to help and guide us. We have the promise of a home in Heaven when we die or when the Lord Jesus returns to gather up His loved ones. He is coming back. It could be today! Are you ready?

What wonderful blessings are ours when we are walking with the Lord. All this is FREE to us because the Lord Jesus paid our debt in full!
